ACWS DIVING!

Diving Team Practice will be listed separately from the Swim Team Practices

on the "PRACTICE SCHEDULE" link located on the Diving Home Page.

Because of the number of divers, the ACWS Winter 2009 Diving Team will be divided the team into (3) practice groups.  This design may be "tweaked" as needed as we get started and see how the groups work out.

Groups A, B and C.

Each group has a dive requirement to meet to be included in that practice group.

These groupings allow the older/ more experienced divers a little more board time.  They have more dive requirements than the younger/ novice divers.

The young 5/6,7/8 year olds lose interest and get distracted if too much time spent at practice.  They also only have to do 4 total dives, two of which are just front and back jumps. Also, on Tuesdays, Assistant Coach Shelly Buchter will devote her time to the beginners.

Group A is the entire team.

Group B a diver must be able to do an inward dive in tuck position and a front (11/2) somersault or a back (1 ) somersault in tuck position.

Group C the diver must be able to do all of the following: inward dive, back dive, reverse dive and a front 11/2 somersault, all in tuck position.
