Section
1. The
club shall be named
The Aquatic Club of the West Shore
Section 1.
The purpose of this organization is:
A. To promote and assist with the operation of the swim team for
all
current/participating swimmers of the Sea Serpent Swim Team.
B.
To work in conjunction with
the West Shore School District and the
surrounding
communities to provide the a high quality aquatic program.
Section 1.
Eligibility
A. The
Parents' Organization will be open to all parents or guardians of participants
interested in promoting the team and volunteering to help at events.
Section
2. Participation
EACH
SWIM TEAM EVENT IS POSSIBLE BUT
ONLY
THROUGH PARENT PARTICIPATION.
A.
Any parent or guardian who attends meetings of the organization and
assists with meet responsibilities shall be considered a participant.
B.
Participants shall perform any reasonable service required in support
of the swim team.

only VOTING members of the Board of
Directors are members of the Executive
Board
Section
1. The Executive Board
shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three parents
at-large.

All final decisions (monetary, league participation, and suspension)
will be voted on by this Board.

Any changes,
additions, deletions, and explanations for the betterment of the
constitution will be made by this Board in conjunction with the Parent
Organization.

At times the Executive Board may look to the Parent Organization
for a vote on a specific issue. The outcome of the
vote will be considered in the final decision of the Executive
Board.
Section 1.
Appointment of Committees
Committees
shall be appointed by the President during organizational meetings. Committees are necessary for meet responsibilities and pre-season
organization. All participants are encouraged to volunteer and become involved
in each meet. Standing Committees necessary for ongoing team functioning are
listed in Section 2 through 10. Additional Committees may be appointed by the
President as necessary on an ad hoc basis to fill any need that the team may
have in a particular season.

Nominating Committee
Responsible
for generating a slate of individuals to potentially serve on the Executive
Board.
Section 3.
Recognition Committee
Responsible
for coordinating all aspects of the end of season events. (gifts, location,
food, special awards, etc.)
Section 4.
Telephone Committee
Responsible
for setting up phone chain between parents.
Section 5.
Swim Meet Committee
Responsible
for coordinating parent volunteers for efficient running of dual meets.
Section 6.
Concession Committee
Responsible
for pre-planning and “day of meet” organization of all aspects of the
concession stand.
Section 7.
Swim Suit Committee
Responsible
for ordering and dispersing suits and caps for the upcoming season.
Section 8.
Fund-raising Committee
Responsible
for raising monies for the swim team to purchase items that will benefit
the team.
Section 9.
Ribbon Committee
Responsible
for ordering, sorting, and coordinating ribbons and awards for each season as
well as organizing awards and ribbons for each dual meet.
Section 10.
Public Relations Committee
Responsible
for media releases, website development, and team picture coordination as well
as photography and information releases.

appointed by the Executive Board to represent the team at League meetings.
