Helpful Hints for Parents
DURING
THE SEASON
Parents
can continually support their swimmer and the team!

your child cannot be at a meet, notify the coaches immediately. |

Make
sure they dress warmly during the winter months. |
|
|
Always
encourage your child to do their best. |
|
|
Be
involved - volunteer and attend meets, talk with
the coaches, know your child's times. |
Parents can keep track of their swimmers
times and help them to celebrate improvements on all levels!
UNDERSTANDING TIMES...
We swim "yard" times in the winter...
To convert a
meter
time to a yard time,

first reduce all times to
seconds, then multiply the meter time by .9 .

We swim "meter" times in the summer...
To convert a yard
time to a meter time,
|
|
multiply the yard time by 1.1 |
It's important for parents to help swimmers compare their times - but
make sure you are comparing "apples to apples".
